The One of Our Own Fund, is a heartfelt initiative created by the East Coast Four Wheel Drive Association (EC4WDA) to support our members during challenging times. Established in 1988 by the Land Use/Community Projects Committee, the fund was inspired by a deep sense of compassion and community. After a moving discussion about a member’s premature childbirth, EC4WDA recognized the importance of helping its own members who face difficulties due to health challenges, loss of a family member, or other personal hardships.
This fund is more than just financial assistance—it’s a reflection of the EC4WDA family spirit. It serves as a safety net for our members, offering help when it's most needed. By providing support in times of crisis, the One of Our Own Fund embodies the values of care, unity, and generosity that define our association. |

The One of Our Own Fund is an important part of what makes EC4WDA a family. As a member, you’re not only part of a vibrant off-road community but also part of a support system that looks out for its own. Knowing that assistance is available during life’s unexpected challenges is one of the many benefits of being an EC4WDA member.
The fund is maintained entirely through donations, emphasizing the collective strength of our community. Contributions from clubs, individuals, and events ensure that we can continue helping our members when they need it most.

How It Works, |
The One of Our Own Fund provides confidential financial assistance to EC4WDA members facing personal hardships, such as health challenges or loss of a loved one. Current members can request support by submitting a written explanation of their situation, either directly to the fund’s Chairman or through their Regional Chairman. Each request is carefully reviewed and the fund is managed by a dedicated committee, which is entirely supported by voluntary donations from members and clubs.
